AS ADOPTED BY THE COGCC JANUARY 16, 1996
WHEREAS IT IS THE POLICY OF THE COLORADO OIL & GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION THAT, CONSISTENT WITH FOSTERING, ENCOURAGING AND PROMOTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS RESOURCES IN COLORADO, OIL AND GAS OPERATIONS SHOULD BE CONDUCTED SO AS TO PREVENT AND MITIGATE SIGNIFICANT ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS TO WILDLIFE NOW THEREFORE THE COGCC RESOLVES TO SUPPORT THE EFFORTS BY THE COGCC STAFF, INDUSTRY TRADE ASSOCIATIONS, AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL STAKEHOLDERS TO:
ASSEMBLE DIVISION OF WILDLIFE DATA AND OTHER RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO EVALUATE IMPACTS TO WILDLIFE;
MAKE THOSE DATA AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THE COGCC, THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY, AND INTERESTED MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC;
USE THE DATA AND RESOURCES TO ASSESS POTENTIAL IMPACTS TO WILDLIFE;
DOCUMENT THE POTENTIAL IMPACTS AND THE TYPE OF IMPACTS; AND
ENCOURAGE VOLUNTARY COOPERATION AMONG OIL AND GAS OPERATORS IN PREVENTING AND MITIGATING POTENTIAL IMPACTS TO WILDLIFE.
THE COMMISSION FURTHER DIRECTS THE COGCC STAFF TO REPORT TO THE COMMISSION ANNUALLY, OR AS REQUESTED BY THE COMMISSION, THE POTENTIAL IMPACTS, THE TYPE OF IMPACTS, AND THE STATUS OF A VOLUNTARY PROGRAM TO BE DEVELOPED TO PREVENT AND MITIGATE SIGNIFICANT ADVERSE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS TO WILDLIFE.
