Annotation: This document is a draft list of the Colorado Division of Wildlife's recommendations for minimizing the impacts of oil and gas development on wildlife. It includes Best Management Practices (BMPs) for all stages of the oil and gas development process, from planning through reclamation. It also suggests certain research and monitoring practices. Appendix A (also listed as CO27) includes species-specific BMPs.

Recommended BMPs: “To accomplish this objective a Wildlife Impact Avoidance and Minimization Plan should be prepared prior to development that incorporates the following strategies:” Pg. 1 and “These reasonable recommendations are derived from the best available science and represent preferred management actions to protect wildlife and wildlife habitats where oil and gas development is occurring.” Pg. 10 Appendix
Ownership: Federal, state and private -- "These reasonable recommendations are derived from the best available science and represent preferred management actions to protect wildlife and wildlife habitats where oil and gas development is occurring."
