Title: Where suitable habitat complexes are unavoidable, well pads should be located at the periphery of the complex.
Text: "New oil/gas wells should not be placed in dunal areas within occupied or suitable habitat. Well sites proposed in these areas should be moved to adjacent shinnery oak flats. Where a dune complex that contains occupied or suitable habitat is large (>5 acres) and there are compelling reasons, such as Oil Conservation Division (OCD) requirements that may not be alleviated, new well pads should be located at the periphery of the complex, avoiding the center of the complex."
