Annotation: This document was created by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to help manage mineral development on BLM-administered lands, although its practices may also be applied to other categories of ownership. The document describes threats to terrestrial and aquatic species and suggests management practices for protecting those species from the harmful effects of oil and gas development. The document begins with general wildlife-related concepts and later recommends management practices for specific species. The appendices include a list of standard management practices for oil and gas development, a list of practices that can mitigate wildlife impacts, lists of priority areas in Wyoming for conservation, and a list of grassland obligate species. BMPs in the database were derived from the 2004 version. A 2009 update is now available and will be added to the database as time permits.
