This report uses data collected from a general population survey from a random sample drawn from 21 counties located within the Marcellus Shale region in Pennsylvania. The report analyzes feedback from the surveys to understand the public's knowledge surrounding, views about, and sources of information concerning hydraulic fracturing and the management, disposal, and reuse of frac flowback waters. The report concludes with implications from the study and policy recommendations for the natural gas industry, government regulators, environmental/conservation organizations, and concerned citizenry. |
