Recycling of non-hazardous industrial waste |
Text: |
"Non-hazardous industrial waste is sorted on the rig into categories (steel drums, rags/pads/filters, and scrap metal). Steel drums are shipped to a recycling facility for recleaning and reuse. Rags/pads/filters are placed in metal drums for shipment to the recycling facility. The recycling facility separates the waste into three components: oil, scrap metal, and a flammable material. The oil and scrap metal are sold to a vendor for re-use. The flammable material is burned in a process that generates electric power, which is sold. Scrap metal collected on the rigs is stored in bins for shipment to a scrap metal broker." |
