Title: Evaporation ponds can be constructed for disposal of produced water.
Text: Water Management: Disposal: Impoundments: "Evaporation/infiltration ponds can be constructed for the disposal of produced water.... The construction and operation of an infiltration pond can be impacted by the local water table as high water tables prevent the natural filtration of water. A high water table could present regulatory concerns if the groundwater was in contact with a surface stream. Infiltration ponds constructed in areas where produced water infiltrates into the groundwater and is subsequently discharged to a stream or river would require a MPDES permit."
